Plant Nursery Assistant (Part-Time)

We are looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Plant Nursery Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis, including weekend availability.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the nursery. This includes plant care (watering, maintenance, and display), maintaining high visual standards, and providing friendly, informed advice to customers. A solid understanding of plants and general gardening is essential.

This is a hands-on, physical role based largely outdoors in all weather conditions, so you should be comfortable working on your feet, lifting, and being outside year-round.

There may also be opportunities to support work in our kitchen garden, so experience or interest in vegetable growing and cut flowers would be a bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with plant care, watering, and maintenance
• Creating and maintaining attractive plant displays
• Supporting customers with plant and gardening advice
• Helping with general nursery upkeep

Requirements:

• Good plant knowledge and passion for gardening
• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
• Reliable with availability to work weekends

Experience with vegetable growing or cut flowers is desirable but not essential.
