Farm to Forest: A Circular Walk from Peterley

Looking to stretch your legs after a coffee or brunch at the Barn Kitchen? This peaceful 40–45 minute circular walk starts and ends at the farm, taking in rolling fields, woodland paths, and even a local pub if you fancy a pit stop.

Route Details:

Start: Outside the Barn Kitchen at Peterley Manor Farm
Distance: 1.83 miles ( Approx. 40–45 minutes)
Terrain: A mix of gravel track, open fields, and woodland trails
Dog Friendly: Yes
Optional Stop: The Full Moon Pub in Little Kingshill

Directions:

  1. Begin outside the Barn Kitchen and walk down Peterley Avenue, passing the alpaca field on your left.
  2. As the track narrows, take the first left into an open field (more alpacas ahead).
  3. Follow the fenced path diagonally across the field, continue between the houses, and pass through the gate onto the road.
  4. Turn left, join Hare Lane, and follow it until you reach the Full Moon Pub.
  5. Walk in front of the pub and take the footpath that leads into the woods.
  6. Keep left at the fork, walk through the trees and across an open field.
  7. Pass a barn on your left, go through the final gate, and turn left onto Peterley Lane.
  8. Follow the lane (note: no pavement) back to the farm gates.

Whether you’re walking off a farm lunch or making the pub your halfway point, this circular stroll is a gentle introduction to the surrounding Chilterns countryside.
