Date: Thursday 2nd October 2025
Venue: The Barn Kitchen Garden, Peterley Manor Farm
Timings: 6:30-9:30pm
Over the course of this 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to print fabric using beautifully hand-carved wooden blocks, each one crafted by skilled artisans and get your own complimentary glass of fizz on arrival. This is a slow and intentional process: dipping the block into vibrant paint, carefully pressing your design onto the fabric, and watching your creation come to life, one print at a time.
A Guided Introduction:
We’ll begin with a short demonstration to walk you through the process: how to apply the paint, align your block, and press with intention. No rush, no pressure.
Practice & Play:
You’ll start by printing on scrap fabric until you feel confident and comfortable. It’s all about finding your rhythm and enjoying the process.
What You’ll Make:
Once you’re ready, you’ll print your own custom tea towel to take home or a set of 4 napkins. Unique, handmade pieces perfect as a gift or keepsake.
100+ Hand-Carved Wooden Blocks:
Choose from our carefully curated collection of over 100 blocks, featuring a mix of traditional Indian motifs and contemporary designs.
A selection of these blocks are unique to Kirubajinie, created exclusively for our brand, adding something truly special to your piece. Each block with its own story.
All Materials Supplied:
We provide everything you need: blocks, paints, fabric, and aprons. Just bring yourself and a willingness to explore.
No Experience Needed:
Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who loves making, this workshop is for everyone.
Why It’s Special:
This isn’t just about learning a technique, it’s about taking time for yourself. It’s about slowing down, getting into a creative flow, and finding joy in the tactile, repetitive, meditative nature of block printing. Each print you make is one-of-a-kind, a reflection of your hands, your choices, and your moment of stillness.
We’ve created a space where you can feel supported and inspired. Come alone or with a friend and leave with something you made, and maybe a little more peace than when you arrived.
