Fancy a stretch after a coffee or brunch at the Barn Kitchen? This circular 40–50 minute route takes you through open fields, shady woodland and quiet country lanes before looping back to the farm—perfect for a countryside reset.
Route Details: Start: Peterley Manor Farm (Barn Kitchen) Distance: 3.5 miles Terrain: Lanes, open fields, woodland (some sections can be boggy) Dog Friendly: Yes (on leads through fields)
Directions:
Start at the farm gates and turn right onto Peterley Lane.
Walk to the T-junction and turn left onto Nairdwood Lane.
After ~0.5km, take the footpath on your right through a kissing gate into an open field.
Cross the field and head into the woodland. Take the path that bears straight/right (do not turn left).
Continue until you reach a gate, then turn right. The next stretch can be boggy, stick to the higher ground on the right if needed.
Climb the path uphill until you reach a driveway. Turn left along the drive (this is a public right of way, though it may feel private).
As the driveway bends towards the house, take the marked path on the right into the woods.
Descend, cross straight over the road, and continue up the hill opposite.
At the top, take the path bearing right in the woods (if you start descending, retrace your steps).
Follow the path until you reach a kissing gate on your right. Pass through into an open field.
Cross diagonally towards Nairdwood Farm, then turn left at the fork back towards the woods.
Continue through the gate and follow the narrow path beside the alpaca field on your right.
When the fenced path splits, take the right fork, crossing the field diagonally.
Reach Peterley Avenue, turn right, and follow it back to the farm for a well-deserved drink.
