Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Reports to: Head Chef

Location: Peterley Manor Farm, Great Missenden

Contract: Part-time, includes weekends and some Friday evenings

Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience + tronc
Hours: Full-time or part-time considered | Weekend working required

We are looking for a passionate, hands-on Kitchen Assistant to join our food team at Peterley Manor Farm.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build real skills in a farm-to-fork food environment, working primarily within our busy Barn Kitchen and Production Kitchen.

You’ll work alongside our chefs preparing fresh, seasonal food for our daily breakfast and lunch services, as well as producing food for our award-winning Farm Shop. With our Kitchen Garden just a few steps away and an onsite butcher, deli and cheesemonger, you’ll have access to fantastic ingredients and the opportunity to learn about food from field to plate.

Previous professional kitchen experience is welcome, but not essential. We are very happy to train someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and genuine passion for good food.

The Role

You will:

• Assist our chefs with daily food preparation and mise en place.
• Support busy breakfast and lunch services in the Barn Kitchen.
• Help prepare seasonal products within our Production Kitchen for the Farm Shop.
• Work with fresh, seasonal and often homegrown ingredients from our Kitchen Garden.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and kitchen organisation.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, food safety and allergen standards.
• Work flexibly across our food departments when required.
• Have opportunities to learn additional skills including butchery, deli, artisan cheese and food production.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic and genuinely interested in great ingredients and good food.

Weekend working will be required.

Learn & Develop
