If you’re looking for an alternative to the usual indoor play centres, Little Farmers offers something altogether slower, muddier and closer to nature.

Set within the Barn Kitchen Garden, our seasonal play sessions invite toddlers and young children to explore, create and learn through hands-on, farm-inspired activities. Expect mud kitchens, sensory play, paint stations, water play and ever-changing seasonal invitations to play, all thoughtfully created using natural and recycled materials.

With the sounds of the farm all around and plenty of space to roam, children are free to follow their curiosity while parents enjoy a more relaxed pace. Like everything at Peterley, Little Farmers evolves with the seasons, so no two visits are quite the same.

And the fun doesn’t have to end when your session does. Stay for lunch in The Barn Kitchen, or pre-book our Afternoon Tea for Grown Ups & Little Ones to make a day of it together. Say hello to the llamas, browse the farm shop and plant nursery, and pick up seeds to grow at home, keeping their love of nature flourishing long after you’ve left the farm.

Please note that due to building work the summer edition will be taking place in a temporary location in the cafe garden, NOT in the Dutch barn as previous sesions.

This year, we’ve partnered with Children’s Hospital Pyjamas, a charity providing brand-new pyjamas to children in hospitals, hospices and women’s refuges across the UK. Operating since 2009, the charity collected 32,555 pairs of pyjamas last year alone, donating them to 347 establishments nationwide. This year including: Stoke Mandeville Hospital’s Children’s Ward, Spinal Unit and Children’s Emergency Department, Ronald McDonald House Oxford, and Women’s Aid High Wycombe.

You can support the cause in two easy ways: add a donation at checkout when booking your ticket, or bring a new pair of pyjamas (newborn to age 18) to our collection point during Little Farmers sessions. Every pair makes a real difference, from a gift on Christmas Day to a comfort in an emergency.

FAQ’s

• Are dogs welcome? Unfortunately not, due to the nature of this event please leave your furry friends at home.
• What is the suggested age for ‘Little Farmers’ ? Little Farmers is designed for children from walking age (around 1-2 years) to 7 years, however children up to 10 years old are welcome to play alongside younger siblings.
• What should we wear? The activities take place inside a marquee and in an outdoor grassed area. Activities include paint and water play so please do dress children appropriately.
• Will you provide any waterproof overalls? No, please dress appropriately.
• Does a baby have to pay? Under 1 year olds (baby in arms/pre-walkers) are free.
• Do I need to accompany my child? Yes for the entire session, we do not take responsibility for your child or their safety whilst playing.
• Do I have to pre-book? Pre-booking through our website is essential. We do restrict the number of people in the building to ensure a quality play experience and safety of your children, therefore we do not exceed this.
• Can I turn up at anytime? We operate pre-defined play sessions to allow us time to tidy up in between, ensuring that every child gets to experience ‘Little Farmers’ at its best. You may turn up at any time during a play session but you will be required to leave at the end of that session even if you have not been there for the full 75 minutes.
• Do you have toilets on site? Yes in the Barn Kitchen Cafe
• How many children can I bring per adult?  One adult can supervise up to three children.
• If I arrive late, can I stay longer? No, your session will end at the ticket stated time
• Can I bring my own food? No. We have the Barn Kitchen Café on site which you can buy hot food and drinks. We do advise pre-booking as it can be very busy. Our takeaway drinks Hut will also usually be open during the sessions.
• Where is ‘Little Farmers’ at Peterley Manor Farm? We are situated in the Barn Kitchen garden in a marquee. Please head to the Barn Kitchen entrance and follow signs to the right and enter via the field gate.
